Junior Coach Development Program
This program is designed for rising 8th grade swimmers and older who are interested in learning how to become a swim coach and other important leadership essentials. Here are some important details about this role:
- Junior Coaches will volunteer their time and will earn service hours in return.
- Junior Coaches will be assigned a time slot to volunteer for during swim meets. As they are also swimmers, we fully expect them to still compete in the meet!
- Junior Coaches will assist the coaches in the water helping teach the younger swimmers how to swim.
The following are the qualifications for the positions:
- The candidate must have swum with our team a minimum of one year.
- The candidate must have a good practice attendance record from previous swim years.
- The candidate must have displayed good sportsmanship in previous swim years.
Each candidate will be interviewed by the team Head Coach and/or a Board Member. Once swimmers have volunteered as a Junior Coach for a minimum of one swim season and are at least a rising Junior in high school, the Junior Coach can be considered to fill future paid coaching positions with Apalachee Aquatics. Interested swimmers should go to the Contact Us form.
